The Good Shepherd Community

From building a church congregation within its residence to creating a marquee golf tournament fundraiser, administrator Bruce Glanzer and his colleagues at The Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids continually work together to make the Good Shepherd experience the best it can possibly be. 

An innovative way Good Shepherd has added revenue is through the creation of its own satellite television network. Good Shepherd purchased its own supply of satellite receivers and now fills those receivers with satellite service from DirectTV. Total equipment and installation costs came to $29,000. Good Shepherd paid for that investment in just 8 months and now nets about $3,400 monthly while providing a product that residents enjoy. Check out the "before" and "after" below:

Good Shepherd residents paid $14.21 per month for 13 basic cable channels Good Shepherd residents pay $15 for 38 channels.
No single information channel was available that could be tailored to the needs of Good Shepherd residents. Good Shepherd has an information channel that can be tailored for its residents.
No ability to broadcast a movie residence-wide. Good Shepherd can hold "movie nights" by broadcasting a single movie on a single channel on each person’s TV.
Good Shepherd made no revenue on television. Good Shepherd nets $3,400 per month on its new television network.
